The instruments which were commonly used to acquire data on or pertaining to sprites in this dissertation are described in Appendix A. However, much of the data presented in this chapter was acquired by instruments which were either not used elsewhere in this study (e.g. LDAR) or were operated in a different mode than elsewhere (e.g. NMT interferometer). These instruments and their operation will be briefly discussed below.
