Video timing

Accurate timing of video is necessary to determine which parent discharge produced the sprites. The onset of the parent discharge can be determined to microsecond accuracy by the GPS-based data acquisition system (see Appendix A.2). High-speed video must be timed precisely to determine sprite initiation times relative to the time of cloud-to-ground strokes.
